Using Goalbook Pathways in the Classroom: Both Remind and Goalbook Pathways are considered to be “Scheduling and Goal- Setting Tools” (Image Link: ) Remind: Remind is a website which sends teachers, students and/or parents messages to remind them of upcoming events or assignments.This tool can be used in a wide variety of classrooms ranging from K-12 and all levels of special education (if you are using Goalbook Toolkit).Teachers must have access to the Internet and know how to use it properly and must have time to explore and familiarize themselves with the tool before implementing it in the classroom. Onsite Professional Development is available based on pricing package.Teachers can provide as much or as little support as needed.Classroom-ready resources are available for use online.Learning strategies can be highlighted in the content areas of Reading, Writing, Math and Social and Emotional Learning.Highlight targeted strategies based on the needs of each student.I signed up for a free trial of Goalbook Pathways. Goal book Toolkit is geared towards special education teachers and students, and Goalbook Pathways is geared towards general education teachers and students. Primary Users: Teachers and students- there are two different types of Goalbook. The district wide membership is priced based on the size of schools, how many schools are in the district, etc. The first is a free trial (which is what I tried), there is a school wide membership which ranges between $6,000 and $15,000 a year or there is a district wide membership. Assessment Access:Ĭost: There are three different pricing options. An interactive quiz makes the content more engaging and exciting for students and also provides an opportunity to incorporate technology into the classroom. Having students fill out a worksheet upon completion of reading a story is boring and not very engaging for students. The problem solved being solved is how students apply their practice after learning new content. Students will be able to complete the quiz with 90% accuracy or higher.Students will be able to exemplify their knowledge of who, what, when, where, why and how.When given the book, “Little Red Riding Hood” students will apply their knowledge of who, what, when, where, why and how by completing a quiz.RL.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.Because this quiz is intended for second graders, I would increase the amount of time the students have to answer the question, increase the amount of attempts a student has to answer the question, and not have the whole class results shown on the board. It also provides an option to change the pacing, question order, provide or not to provide immediate feedback, show the final score or offer more than one attempt on a question. Socrative provides the teacher with the choice of how they would like to have the quiz run. The formative assessment method I chose was to create a quiz using Socrative. Students can work individually or in pairs (I will decide based on how well I believe the students are understanding the content). This quiz will act as practice for students. We will use “Little Red Riding Hood” to apply the content learned through the Prezi. Upon completing the Prezi, we will read the book “Little Red Riding Hood”. For this formative assessment, it will occur after students have gone through the Prezi on the 5 “W’s” and 1 “H”.
